Foluke Michael is a multifaceted professional, encompassing roles as a Project Management Expert, SDGs Implementer, Green Economy Specialis Author, and IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner. With a background in Civil Engineering since 1998, she has transitioned into a prominent figure in promoting sustainable businesses and social impact initiatives in Africa.
She is the Chief Executive Officer of Caterina de’ Medici Africa, an organisation committed to propelling Africa's transition to a Green Economy.
Foluke is a creator of "Art for Social Good". She is an MSc holder in Project Management from the University of Salford. She obtained a Certificate in Design-Led Strategy: Design Thinking For Business Strategy And Entrepreneurship from The University of Sydney, Australia and a BBA with a Specialisation in Building a Tech Startup at Nexford University.
A deep commitment to humanity marks Foluke's journey, demonstrated through her initiation of life-changing projects for young Nigerian artists and her longstanding collaboration with Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka on various children's and youth projects, especially, The Vision of The Child.
As the CEO and Project Director of Creative Youth Community Development Initiative, Foluke leads initiatives to realise the #2030Agenda for Sustainable Development, including platforms such as The Vision of the Child, Solution17 for Climate Action and the Green Entrepreneurs.
Her remarkable achievements include winning the United Nations SDG Award as Innovator and the Prestigious University of Salford Alumni Achievement Award in the United Kingdom. Her projects, recognised globally, have been published by the UN as exemplary practices for SDG implementation.
Foluke's dedication to combating climate change is evident through her projects like Solution17 Art for Climate Action, Naija Climate Now and Trees from Art, which received support from UN and Diplomatic Missions.
In 2023, she spearheaded a Tech-Driven Art for Climate project in partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi, aiming to drive climate action and youth-focused initiatives for COP28 in UAE.
Through her extensive work and advocacy, Foluke is a global changemaker, empowering youth, women, and entrepreneurs to tackle global challenges.
Her books The Green Entrepreneurs and The Book of Acts: In the Beginning, The Planet, published between 2021 and 2023, further solidify her commitment to promoting sustainable development and green growth.
