In 2018, CYCDI was honored with the United Nations SDG Action Award in the Innovator Category. The project, Corruption Busters, was inaugurated in December 2017 in Nigeria to commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day. Corruption Busters engages children and youth in fostering a culture of integrity and combatting corruption, thereby contributing to the development of sustainable communities.
The initiative's overarching goal is to advocate for sustainable corruption prevention, thereby expediting progress towards the SDGs. Central to this endeavor is their animated movie series, designed for a broad audience, which highlights corrupt practices and their detrimental effects on both individuals and society. Additionally, the initiative provides innovative approaches for addressing such practices.
One notable production of Corruption Busters is the video "Corruption the Musical," featuring the talented young Nigerian artist, Adegboyega. This campaign has successfully reached over 1 million individuals, underscoring its impact in raising awareness and promoting anti-corruption efforts within the community.
